I thought I bought my dream home – but then it poisoned my family and ruined my life

A homebuyer has issued a chilling warning to anyone buying a new property after her “dream” home “ruined her life” when it was found to have black mold that was making her entire family seriously ill for whole months.

TikTok user Brittney Necole shared a series of videos on the app in which she detailed her “nightmare” experience with mold, claiming she was “gassed” and “lied to” by her builders, who insisted there was no nothing wrong with new construction. property.

“Please see if you bought a new build… This has become my nightmare,” she wrote in her first viral clip, in which she displayed the horrific symptoms she says she and her children suffered as the result of mold.

“About a year ago, a year and a half ago, I bought a brand new house. It’s like a dream house for me and little did I know how it would destroy my life,” she explained in the video. “I don’t look or sound normal like that. I have been poisoned by my house.”

She said her whole family got sick from hidden mold and she has fatigue and inflammation from breathing.

She also listed ailments such as new sensitivity to detergents, extreme thirst, leaky gut and inability to break a sweat.

However, because Necole locked herself into a mortgage with “almost a 9% interest rate,” she said she was “stuck” in the house, even though it has made her family so sick.

“My house has mold inside,” she said. “I am very sick here. And I’m stuck in this house. I have a mortgage rate of almost 9% and $3,000 of my mortgage goes to interest every month.”

Necole then pointed the finger at the builders responsible for building the property, claiming they installed the wrong size air conditioning unit and used lumber that was already moldy.

“They forgot to put vapor wrap or barrier wrap on it,” she claimed. “The AC was installed incorrectly – it’s a huge unit with exposed holes everywhere. My whole house was built with moldy lumber.

“My throat hurts every day, I have the craziest symptoms from mold exposure,” she said, adding that she is sleeping on the couch because she can’t breathe in her room.

“I find myself getting off the couch to go outside for fresh air because I can’t breathe in here anymore. I get to a point where I can’t handle it.”

Necole further claimed builders tried to “cover up” their faulty construction – and advised others not to rush into buying a new home because materials can be cheap.

“It’s really common with a lot of these new builds. They just throw them out so fast and do such a crappy job installing the AC,” she said.

“My story is so crazy – everything I’ve experienced with this new build. But if I can share anything with you, it’s this [you should] see the process of your new construction and check your AC with YOUR AC’s son, not theirs.”

In another video, Necole shared images and videos of her children going to the doctor on several different occasions, while detailing the symptoms they’ve all suffered as a result of the mold, including “extreme fatigue, neurological dysfunction, strep chronic, mood swings, rashes, sore throat, chronic allergies and memory loss.”

She added in a third video that she became sick as hell two months after moving into her home, noting that after being “gassed and lied to” by her builder, she decided to hire her own inspector to find out what was happening inside her house.

After that inspector found evidence of mold, Necole and her family “moved everything” out of their home and “got rid of a lot” in an effort to rid the property of mold once and for all.

She and her family then moved into a short-term rental while the house was “repaired” and “fixed up” to make it livable.

“My body said ‘no’ and the kids always looked sick,” she continued, as she shared more images of her kids at the doctor — and photos of her body covered in a painful rash.

It was at this point that the inspector discovered a problem with the AC installation, which caused “extremely high humidity” in her home, explaining that it needed to be removed and redone.

After first documenting her struggle with mold in August, Necole said she and her family are still struggling with their symptoms — and still finding evidence of mold in their home.

She shared in a recent video that her daughter has just been re-diagnosed with strep.

She also recently discovered her washing machine was full of mould, despite using the ‘self-clean’ function at least ‘once a month’.

Her followers detailed similar stories with one writing, “I’m 100 percent sure I have this. I had mold in my car and bedroom, never knew it was a big deal. I’ve had terrible symptoms for 3 years, I thought I had auto-immune, but everything is back to normal.”

Another advised getting a lawyer to sue the builder.
